Marcus Dormena
Hey everyone! My name is Marcus Dormena and I am a 3rd year Physics major at the City College of New York. The other institutions I've attended were New York City College of Technology and Kingsborough Community College. I am a research intern at the American Museum of Natural History, and this past summer I researched at the Center for Computational Astrophysics. I am also a basketball player, drummer, king of dad jokes, casual gamer, and lover of Marvel movies. I’ve had an interest in Astrophysics since Junior High School. My interest in Astrophysics is driven by none other than the countless mysteries there are just waiting to be discovered. These mysteries allow for an endless amount of possibilities for young enthusiastic minds like myself to explore and create my own notions of what life might be like elsewhere, as well as the beautiful sceneries one might see from the far reaches of outer space. Ideas such as travelling across the galaxy to visit different solar systems, as portrayed in countless sci-fi media, are one of many vivid examples. After I receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, I plan to become a museum educator in Astrophysics, preferably working with children and teaching them about our awe-inspiring universe.
