Hello, my name is Liz and I am a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. I received my BA in Washington state from Whitman College (do not recommend this school especially for people of color) and before that was born and raised in Austin, Texas. My research focuses on particle astrophysics and cosmology. In other words I am interested in the evolution of extremely small and massive things. I generally describe myself as a historian of the cosmos! My research puts me in two states simultaneously, one where I am terrified of the vastness of the cosmos and a second where I am curious as hell! I love creative writing and would say I am a beginner baker :) I am very much an advocate for underrepresented students in STEM and would recommend undergraduates check out my site at afrosteminism.org.
