Kojo Sarkodie
Prior to entering the Aerospace & Defense industry as a Integration and Flight Test Engineer for Raytheon Technologies, Kojo was a summer research intern at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in 2019. While at BCM, Kojo would read about the different paths medical professionals can take in order to support NASA's mission of human spaceflight and research. During Kojo's collegiate years his passion for space exploration propelled him into an unfamiliar space where he had the opportunity to served as the Vice-Chair Board of Directors for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-USA), which is the largest student-run, STEAM organization in the world. In his tenure, Kojo led SEDS-USA into a Space Act Agreement with NASA's Office of STEM Engagement and co-created the SEDScast national podcast. In the fall of 2020, Kojo represented SEDS-USA when he spoke as a panelist at the Human to Mars 2020 Summit about the future of space education for the Artemis generation. Later that fall Kojo helped launch the Zed Factor Fellowship (ZFF), which empowers and engages learners and aspiring aerospace professionals from underrepresented backgrounds through practical hands-on experience, leadership training, and community outreach. Because of our mission, ZFF was named Forbes Science 2020 "Most Intriguing Newcomer" of the space industry!
